Electric water heaters are a large portion of the household electric bill.  Insulating the water heater reduces the energy used to keep the water warm and is relatively easy to do.  There are water heater “blankets” available at home improvement stores but they are costly.  If you want so save money and still get the job done, you can wrap the water heater using rolled insulation.
